History - 2003

By 2003 the collection of bits had been transformed into a large bent oval of track, to which was added  a two road engine shed.

2003 also saw the purchase of  the petrol driven 'Telethon 90', a sit astride coach and lots of track work. 

'Telethon 90' 's history is not fully know, but we assume she was built - or perhaps renamed - for the ITV Telethon 90 fund raising series of events. She was based on a welded bar chassis, using the TMNR bogies, heavily modified to house a petrol driven Suffolk Punch lawnmower engine. On top of this was a plywood body, with small go cart type seat and a gearbox perhaps from a cultivator which allowed forward & reverse travel!

Whilst she ran satisfactorily we cannibalised her after a few years for bogie parts.
